Overall objective:

To enhance cooperation in the common border Hungary- Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine in a sustainable economically and socially manner by creating relevant tools to support MSW management of energy recovery from municipal solid waste by thermal conversion technologies.

 Specific objectives:

  • Promoting of cooperation among specialists and interested factors in the cross-border area;
  • Offer of technical support to the key stakeholders in the cross-border area;

Development of innovative management tools for energy recovery from municipal solid waste by thermal technology

Main activities:

  • Analysis of the system of management of the MSW in Maramureș county , Ivano-Frankivska region and Prešovky region
  • The Laboratory „Small scale system for thermal treatment of municipal solid waste” set up
  • Performing the laboratory analyses of samples taken from municipal landfills
  • Determination of the calorific value of the samples
  • Determination of MSW energy potential in MSW in Maramureș county , Ivano-Frankivska Region and Prešovky Region
  • Determination of the waste mass reduction ratio by thermal treatment
  • Creating the Electronic Monitoring Platform for managing data referring to study the energy recovery from municipal solid waste by thermal conversion technologies
  • Organizing the Start-up meeting, in Baia Mare
  • Organizing two workshops, in Prešov and in Ivano-Frankivsk
  • Organizing three dissemination conferences, in Maramureș county, Ivano-Frankivska region and Prešovky region
  • Organizing two meetings for exchange of best practices and expertise, in Maramureș county and in Prešovky region
  • Publishing three studies which include proposals for completing the regional policies with methods and technologies for the thermal treatment of municipal solid waste with energy recovery
  • Publishing one study which include a proposal for cooperation in order to recover energy from municipal solid waste by thermal conversion technologies in cross – border area
  • Creating the website of the project : http://enymsw.eu/#
  • Promoting the project and it’s result by broadcasting three Video spots.
